Legend cars in the United States

In 2012 I raced a Legend car at Evans Mills Speedway (now Evans Mills Raceway Park), a 3/8th mile paved oval in the village of Evans Mills, NY. After a mid-week test I competed in a Saturday night show with qualifying, heat and feature races. The car was owned by Vern La Fave, a long-time racer and prominent driver in Supermodified racing (a very fast and eye-catching form of open wheel racing cars popular in the Northeast of the country).
My Legends adventures in the USA continued in 2019 when I had an opportunity to test a car at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The test was held on the speedway’s road course circuit, which includes a section of the pit road, the front straight and series of infield turns. The test sessions were led by Ken Ragan, an accomplished NASCAR Cup Series racer in the 1980s and father of Cup Series race winner David Ragan. The day on track ended with a parade lap around the 1.5 mile high-banked oval.
